ORC Week 2 – A Few Purchases

It’s week 2 of the One Room Challenge and as I suspected, I don’t have much progress to show today. We got back from Italy Saturday night, so I was pretty worthless the rest of the weekend and the first few days this week. Seriously, I haven’t made it past 8:30 p.m. since I’ve been back. Plus I have so much good stuff on my DVR to watch! Anyway, last week I shared my mood board and plans for the guest bedroom makeover. 

Luckily I did plan ahead a bit, so I actually have something to show you today. I’ve already bought the new bedding, shams, and sheets for the room. It’s all from Kohl’s and I love it, but VERY long story short, I’ll never shop there again. I battled their customer service for a couple weeks and I’m still pissed enough that I’ve vowed to never spend another dollar online or in stores.

I also bought new curtains for the room. They’re from Target, but I had to order them online. They only carry the 84” panels in store, but I needed longer ones from this room.  I ordered them during a Buy 1, Get 1 40%-off sale, plus additional 10%-off so I got a great deal on the pair. I love the fringe detail!

I need to paint the room before I add any of those pieces, so that’s my goal this weekend. I still need to pick a paint color and we all know how hard it is to decide on a gray. There are so many options! At least this room will be easier to paint than my master bedroom!
So, I don’t have much progress to show on my to-do list this week, but here it is:

Paint walls
Buy new bedding and pillows
Paint nightstands
Buy/hang curtains
Paint dresser
Hang artwork
Finishing touches/accessories
