Dining Room Reveal – ORC Week 6

The big reveal is finally here and I’m so happy with how my dining room turned out! I won’t spend too much time blabbing, so we can get right to the “after” pictures. But first, let’s look back and see how the room looked 6 weeks ago. Not bad, but nothing special.

I made a lot of changes and finished quite a few projects over the past six weeks: I bought a lot of new furniture, refinished a dining table and bench (twice), made a roman shade, and hung new artwork/items on the wall. OK, enough talking, let’s look at some after pictures!

I love it!!! All of that time sanding the table and bench was definitely worth it. I’m so happy how they turned out! Well, I’m happy with the whole room, but those are definitely my favorite pieces. As a quick reminder, I used this method to get that driftwood finish.

I’m still working on a source list and adding up my receipts, so I’ll be back next week with all the details. Today let’s just keep it about the pictures. *UPDATE* Check out the source list and budget details here

I can’t end this post without sending a HUGE thanks to Linda from Calling it Home for creating and hosting the challenge. I never would have had to motivation to get this all done so quickly and my dining room would still look like the before pictures. Also, don’t forget to check out the big reveals from the official participants here and the linking participants here.

  17. You nailed it on the driftwood effect on the table and bench! I have the same table sitting in our basement but we are in need of a new kitchen table upstairs. You have me thinking I can just save money and makeover our old dining set. Great job!

  18. Love the way it turned out! The table looks like a hand made farmhouse-like table. I would never guess it came from Wal Mart. I love the cup holder on the wall too. Everything came together perfectly!
